Naturally, when you think your child may need orthodontic treatment, one of the first questions that comes to mind is ‘how much will braces cost?’. Unfortunately, no amount of Googling will provide a definitive answer. Every case is different, and without an initial consultation it’s impossible to know what will be involved in treatment. So, the best way to find out how much orthodontic treatment will cost, is to make an appointment for a consultation with an orthodontist!
At Smileworx, we understand that cost is a very legitimate concern. Most families have limited financial resources and lots of other demands to juggle. We work in several ways to take the stress out of the financial side of treatment.
Giving you options
At Smileworx, we approach treatment in a different way. We aim to make it a more affordable and less complicated exercise by developing an initial treatment strategy that provides more options down the track. For example, if we see your child early enough we may be able to create more space in the mouth and avoid more expensive and complicated treatment (like braces or even surgery).
No pressure
You may worry that when you first come and see us, you’ll need to commit to treatment and the associated costs straightaway. At Smileworx, that’s definitely not how we work. We’ll take the time to explain your options and you can take your time to decide how you’d like to proceed.
Interest free payment plans
We offer interest free payment plans which can be tailored to suit you with different deposit amounts, repayment schedules and repayment amounts. This can be a handy way to spread the cost of your orthodontic treatment.
Working with your finances
We realise that at times you might have other financial commitments to attend to. Sometimes we may be able to stagger your treatment in phases, to work around your other financial priorities. Our staff are very sympathetic, and they understand the realities that most families face. We aim to make it easy for you to discuss with us the best approach for your family.
Comprehensive quote
We’ll provide you with an all-inclusive quote in writing, which will cover everything from initial fitting of the braces and regular adjustment visits; to the removal of braces, retainers and post-treatment follow up for one to two years. This means there are no hidden surprises down the track.
Orthodontic treatment and health insurance
If you have health insurance, you may be able to claim some of your treatment costs back from your health fund. However, many funds have exclusion periods and different levels of cover for orthodontics, so it’s important to check what you can claim before you start treatment.
